Direct Action

As well as being a positive example of what the world may be like if we scale back to a more sustainable pace of life, taking collective action is a fundamental part of the Camp for Climate Action.

We all need to take action in our lives and in our communities to create a new world not based on carbon and exploitation. We also all need to resist those whose positions of privilege is based on a way of life with no future.

Just as resistance to the destruction of our life support systems is futile without creating small scale alternatives to help us survive, all our positive futures will be engulfed in the chaos of climate change unless we resist the madness all around.

We need to do both of these things, and we need to do both of them collectively. The power we gain from collective action is the catalyst to force change.

The direct action from the camp will be inspired and creative; it will be at many different locations and take many forms. There will be small groups taking autonomous actions and well-advertised mass actions.

It is the policy of the Camp for Climate Action that everyone is welcome to come to the camp.
