Climate Camp Location Update

August 26, 2009

At 14:32 the first of the Swoop groups arrived at the camp on bikes with the rest of the Swoop on its way through the city towards the location of the 2009 Camp for Climate Action. The entrance is just Southeast of Greenwich Park, with access from Blackheath Tube station and Greenwich.

Climate Camp is now setting up the Camp infrastructure on Blackheath off of Shooters Hill. The entrance to the Camp is off Hare and Billet Road.

This year’s Camp for Climate Action is on common land. From this heath in 1381, preacher John Ball gave what was probably the country’s first speech against class oppression. What better place to continue the struggle for social justice and the fight against climate change?
